Lot 100 Details
CHÂTEAU PALMER 2006 (2)

Margaux. 3ième Cru Classé
u. 1 x bn. 1 x vts. 2 x scuffed labels.

Tasted at Bordeaux Index's annual 10-Year On tasting in London. The 2006 Château Palmer was wonderful out of barrel ten years ago and now in bottle, it fulfills its promise with a stunning, precise bouquet of maraschino, iodine, cassis and tobacco scents that seem a few years younger than its Margaux peers. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin that cloak its sweet core of cassis and blackcurrant fruit. However, what is so striking is the fineness of the tannin and just how well that oak is subsumed into the fabric of the wine. This is a long-term proposition: a great Margaux from Thomas Duroux. Tasted January 2016. Drink: 2018-2040 WA 94

CHÂTEAU PRIEURÉ-LICHINE 2009 (2)

Margaux. 4ième Cru Classé
u. 2 x bn. stained & scuffed labels.

The soft, sexy 2009 exhibits a dense plum/purple color along with a big, sweet bouquet of raspberries, black cherries, black currants, smoke and forest floor. Opulent and round with an attractive viscosity as well as outstanding purity, depth and length, it should drink well for two decades. While not one of the longest lived wines of the vintage, it is among the most precocious, flattering and charming at present. December 2011 Drink: 2012-2032 WA 93

CHÂTEAU RAUZAN-SÉGLA 2008 (2)

Margaux. 2ième Cru Classé
