Lot 429 Details
CHÂTEAU LÉOVILLE LAS CASES 2005 (1)

Saint-Julien. 2ième Cru Classé
u. bn. scraped & marked label.

This is a prodigious effort. This dense ruby/purple wine has a stunningly pure bouquet of dark fruit, wet rocks, graphite, and subtle background toast/vanillin. Full-bodied, masculine, and very deep and concentrated, this titanic effort is at least 8-10 years away from its plateau of maturity. Anticipated maturity: 2023-2050+ June 2015 WS 98 WA 97+ JS 99

CHÂTEAU LÉOVILLE LAS CASES 2009 (1)

Saint-Julien. 2ième Cru Classé
marked label.

The 2009 Léoville Las Cases rocks up with a drop-dead gorgeous nose of baked blackberries, warm plums and crème de cassis with suggestions of violets, rose hip tea, dark chocolate, menthol and sandalwood. Full-bodied, rich, concentrated and decadent in the mouth, it has super ripe, fine-grained tannins and seamless freshness, finishing very long and exotic. March 2019 Drink: 2020-2059 WA 99

CHÂTEAU LÉOVILLE LAS CASES 2010 (1)

Saint-Julien. 2ième Cru Classé
scraped label.

The 2010 is a quintessentially elegant, classic wine of Bordeaux – firm, rigid, perhaps slightly lighter than most of the other St.-Juliens, but stylish, potentially complex, and reminiscent of the style of the 1986, but more concentrated and powerful. This wine displays loads of black currants, cedar wood and vanillin, but needs a good 7-8 years of cellaring, if not much longer. It should last for 30+ years. February 2013 Drink: 2020-2050 WA 96+

CHÂTEAU LÉOVILLE LAS CASES 2015 (1)

Saint-Julien. 2ième Cru Classé

The 2015 Léoville Las Cases has a slightly closed nose, revealing notes of crème de cassis, baked blueberries and black forest cake with touches of licorice, violets and Indian spices plus a waft of dusty soil. The palate is medium to full-bodied, concentrated and built like a brick house, with firm, ripe, velvety tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and spicy. April 2018 Drink: 2025-2050 WA 98+
