The 2009 Oreno is stunning. Layers of soft, well-articulated fruit caress the palate in this sweeping, dramatic wine. There is tons of depth, freshness and vitality in the glass, not to mention terrific overall balance. Sweet flowers, spices and licorice wrap around the seamless, captivating finish. Oreno is one of Italy’s most improved wines. The 2009, a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese, represents another move in the right direction. Drink to 2029 August 2011 WA 94+

Love the aromas to this red with currants, blackberries and hints of dark truffles. Full-bodied, with beautifully crafted tannins that are creamy and seamless. Fabulous refinement and length. Leave it in your cellar for at least four or five years. But impressive to taste or drink now. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. One of best Orenos ever made since its inception in 1999. November 2014 jamessuckling.com JS 96

The flagship wine from Tenuta Sette Ponti is the 2018 Oreno, a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. This is a dark, concentrated and full-bodied expression that exudes black fruit and blackberry with spicy tobacco and savory spice. Despite the Bordeaux blend in its DNA, the wine is fully Tuscan in character and spirit, with the softness and fullness that comes from fruit cultivated under the golden sunshine of Central Italy.
