CHÂTEAU CLOS DE SARPE 2005 (1)

Saint-Émilion. Grand Cru Classé
u. bn. scraped label.

Deep garnet-brick in color, the 2005 Clos de Sarpe has an absolute blockbuster nose of liquid licorice, violets, Chinese five spice and chocolate box with nuances of smoked meats, cigar box, cast iron pan and Marmite toast—really incredible intensity! The palate is full-bodied and rich yet with the most incredible freshness, giving very fine, velvety tannins and an incredibly long, very layered finish. Wow! May 2018 Drink: 2018-2050 WA 97

CHÂTEAU FAUGÈRES 2005 (1)

Saint-Émilion. Grand Cru Classé
u. bn. marked label.

CHÂTEAU L'HERMITAGE 2005 (1)

Saint-Émilion. Grand Cru Classé
u. bn. marked label.

CHÂTEAU LE BON PASTEUR 2005 (2)

Pomerol.
u. 1 x bn. 1 x vts. 2 x scraped & marked labels.

A beautiful wine from Dany and Michel Rolland, this 2005 is surprisingly concentrated and powerful – more so than usual. Deep ruby/purple, with plenty of black cherry and cassis fruit, licorice and a touch of caramel, this wine is still full, youthful, and set for another 15-20 years of longevity. This is a beauty and one of their strongest efforts in the first decade of the 21st century. For a terroir considered well below Pomerol’s superstars, this wine is a major overachiever. June 2015 Drink: 2015-2035 WA 95

CHÂTEAU ROL VALENTIN 2005 (2)

Saint-Émilion. Grand Cru Classé
u. 2 x bn. 2 x scraped labels.
