Dr. Thomas Henderson, Montreal, the sitter’s husband; By descent through the family.

Note:

In a letter to the family pertaining to the Estate of Dr. Thomas Henderson, Montreal, it is stated that the artist painted two portraits of Elizabeth Mack, prior to her marriage to Dr. Thomas Henderson. The second portrait of Elizabeth, known as “Mrs. Thomas Henderson of Press Castle” measuring 50 1/4” x 40 1/4” depicts her wearing a bonnet seated in a chair sold at Skinner auction on January 28, 2010, lot 318.
