Note:

Portrait painter William Moore Snr. made his career in York. He lived mainly in Yorkshire and painted there, in Scotland and Devon. He had thirteen sons, including Albert Joseph (1841-1893); Edwin (1813-1893); Henry (1776-1848); John Collingham (1829-1880); and William Moore Jr. (1817-1909) all of whom were recorded artists.
