Note:
The Marshall Plan (officially the “European Recovery Program, ERP”) was the large-scale American program to aid Europe where the United States gave monetary support to rebuild European economies after the end of World War II in order to prevent the spread of Soviet Communism. The plan was in operation for four years, beginning in April 1948. The United States aimed to rebuild the region devastated by the war, modernize industry, and remove trade barriers in an effort to make Europe prosperous again. This initiative was named after the US Secretary of State, George Marshall.
Over 10,000 works were submitted from various counties and a panel of 12 graphic artists served as the judges, selecting the 25 winning posters represented in this lot.
