Note:

The House at Lekkerwijn was the family residence of the Prowse family who sponsored Ruth in her painting. This scene depicts the back of the house from a view across the fields showing the landscape, indigenous trees and mountains set behind the residence. The residence is still occupied by the Prowse family today.
