Lot Report

Note:

Yuri Sarkisov (Tersar) graduated from the Azerbaijani State Art College. He became a Member of the USSR Society of Artists in 1961, following his participation in a number of republican and Union exhibitions. Two of his solo shows took place in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, in 1968 and 1973.

With the beginning of “Perestroika” at the end of 1980's, Sarkisov’s art finally stopped being underground, and he was able to participate in a few international shows as one of the representatives of the Russian Progressive Artistic Society. Museums across Russia started acquiring his paintings and galleries began displaying them.
