This is a rare (in Canada) 18th Century Bolognese fresco of a heavenly Being reminiscent of Raphael’s depiction of Galatea’s face in his fresco, “The Triumph of Galatea” completed in 1512 for the Villa Farnesina in Rome. The Gandolfi brothers were followers of G.B. Tiepolo and were major figures in the world of painting in Bologna in the 18th Century
