The Kaspar Irving Gallery noted on the card accompanying this lot in the exhibition: “In the transitional period after 1910, Kupka became further involved in abstract compositions. This painting shows his direction at that time and is also an example of his fine colour sense”.
M. Horejs was a friend of Kupka’s since 1910.
