Bronze with brown patina; signed “Zuniga,” dated 1961 and numbered III/V on the foot of the figure with the raised hand, titled “Mujeres Sentadas” and inscribed “Fecha / Marzo 9/1970” to the gallery label affixed to the underside of the wood base.

Note:
In 1966, José Tasende opened his first gallery in Acapulco, Mexico. He met Francisco Zuniga, an unknown Costa Rican artist living in Mexico, and subsequently mounted an exhibition of Zuniga’s work at the San Diego Museum of Art in September of 1971.
