This lot was based on the wartime photograph “Sir Winston Churchill with a Tommy Gun” or "Winston Churchill Holding a Sub-Machine Gun." The photograph was taken in 1940 when Churchill visited troops to raise morale as the country appeared to be on the brink of invasion.
