Provenance:

Private Collection, California by descent from his parents' collection, who purchased a collection of Tidemanis’ paintings in Toronto in the late 1960s and early 1970s. This lot was given to the present Private Collection, Santa Monica, CA from his mother.

Note:

The consignor of this lot states that his father is from Latvia and his grandfather knew Tidemanis personally from his days as part of the Toronto Latvian Society. "We always had Tidemanis paintings hanging in our home when I was growing up. My mother gave me this one."
