Gelatin silver print; signed, dated August 29, 1989 and annotated: “Mr. Shakya Dorje and Dr. Trogawa, Rinpoche in midst of busy day’s diagnostic activity in Bowerys Buddhafields, John Giorno’s loft formerly W.S. Burroughs’ old ‘Bunker’” in black felt tip pen to margin, annotated “1222/39040”, dated “8/29/89” and inscribed: “SK print 1/90” in pencil verso. Unframed.

Note:

Mr. Shakya Dorje depicted on the left is the husband of the present owner. Dr. Trogawa was recognized as a third incarnation in the Lamastic tradition. This photograph was taken during Dr. Trogawa’s travels around North America with his Tibetan medicine clinic, “Chagpori Institute” founded at the end of the 17th Century in Tibet.
