FOLIO OF ORNITHOLOGICAL STUDIES

Eighty-three watercolours over pencil with gum arabic including 4 engravings, two hand-coloured, after watercolours by the artist, depicting birds, some Australian, most from the Pacific region; each titled and identified in pen and ink with Latin titles, bird sizes and annotated, several with plate and volume numbers, some possibly after Gould. Various sizes, each mounted to the sheets of a 19th Century hard-cover bound folio.
