Note:

The muskox is the most iconic and perhaps most often revisited subject matter for Barnabus Arnasungaaq, who brings surprising originality to his many renderings of the subject. Striding Musk Ox evokes the massive musculature and thick wind-swept woollen coat of the creature. This example is notable for its sense of lumbering movement and its massive weight conveyed by the hard dark stone indigenous to Qamani'tuaq (Baker Lake).
