“One of my favourite subjects is the peregrine falcon. The eyes and claws are symbols of determination. I once had my own falcon when I was travelling with my sister and brother-in-law out on the land. I became deathly ill and was feverish for several days. My bird stayed by my side constantly in the tent and covered me with its wings for protection. I’ll never forget that time.”
