  • EVOO SAMGUSAK MANGELIK (1942-)
Provenance:

The Balt collection, CA

Between the years of 1964 to 1977 the Balts worked as a nurse and a teacher/Federal Government representative in Ivuyivik, Great Whale River and Rankin Inlet. They acquired carvings directly from the artists.

Note:

This work shows the artist’s “distinct two-headed urns which have become his trademark.” Likewise, it features his characteristic “enigmatic, shamanistic faces, with fan-like shapes that emerge from the sides of the face.”
