Note:

Excerpt from collector’s memoir: In the winter of 1956 I was working on the Central Arctic Patrol, flying to communities in Northern Quebec to meet with the Northern Service Officers. In the Hudson’s Bay store in Inukjuak I noticed a beautiful, large carving of a Woman and Child, sitting on a table in the manager’s office. When I asked about it, he told me that it was too heavy to ship south so he was just keeping it in his office. As I was flying on a charter aircraft I was able to buy it and bring it home. It became the largest carving in my collection.
