This expressive sculpture by Nuilallik is a portrayal of a shaman's flight to the spirit world to reconcile differences between humankind and nature. Bird transformations are seen often in shamanic cultures, but incorporating the caribou in the shaman's bird transformation is very much the artist's oeuvre.
