Lot Report

Note:

This uncatalogued print illustrates the story of a young girl that was captured by a large bird and taken to his nest. Davidialuk often illustrated this story in both his graphic and sculptural works. Here, the artist depicts the legend with great attention to detail, the plummage of the great owl incised so finitely. The dramatically swooping bird and his flailing captive are contained in a clearly defined frame.
