  • OSUITOK IPEELEE, R.C.A. (1923-2005)
Provenance:

The Sparham Collection of Inuit Art, Wales, U.K.

Note:

A wonderfully expressive figural work, this kneeling man from the south with his long beard and hair looks utterly anguished. It is hard to say just what the cause is. Was the artist portraying a particular event or person in his life? Unfortunately the object from the hand has gone astray so we also can only guess what he could be holding or offering.
