Provenance:

Collection of Mr. & Mrs. R. W. Stone, acquired directly from the artist while in Rankin Inlet in 1987

Note:

Mr. Stone recounts that after purchasing an ivory work while in Hall Beach, he sought to find another for his collection by an artist in Rankin Inlet. He was approached by Saumik to create the work that he characterizes as “utterly charming for its breadth of content and execution.”
