Note:

Hard marble quarried at Andrew Gordon Bay, 50 km east of Kinngait (Cape Dorset), was predominantly used in the early to mid 1970’s, and ranged in colour from white to green to salmon pink. Kinngait artists used the difficult material to great effect, making sculptures with forms spare and essential.

The present work depicts a young woman and owl, subjects often addressed in Kenojuak's graphics, but less commonly  found in combination in her sculpture.
