Here, in a departure from the artist’s typical focus on musk oxen as subject matter, the talented Nuveeya Ipellie, son of the renowned artist Ennutsiak, has carved a delightful wide-eyed and open-mouthed bear in a manner reminiscence of the classic early sculptures by artists such as Daniel Simaotik of Inukjuak (Port Harrison).
