Provenance:

Waddington's Auctioneers, Toronto, ON, November 5, 2007, lot 274;
Private collection, Ontario

Note:

Known for his fantastical compositions of transforming animals, here the artist has rendered the amorphous form of a spirit animal in subtle rounded volumes offset against the crisp edges of the creature’s face and dorsal fin. The sculpture is characterized by a refined surface, and the superb piece of banded Kinngait stone from which it has been hewn.
