Provenance:

Private collection, Toronto, ON

Note:

Crisply defined and dynamic in form, Barnabus’ portrait of a woman in her voluminous amauti is a charming counterpart to the musk oxen for which he is best known and which his clientele often expected him to produce. As exemplified here, his skillful depictions of musk oxen did not define the artist’s extensive talents.
