In a letter to the consignor’s father, Casson identified this painting as depicting a scene in Glen Williams, Ontario.
Duval (1951) writes that the Ontario village has provided Casson with themes for many of his happiest paintings “...Glen Williams...such hamlets have attracted his fond attention since the early ’twenties.”
