Roger Boulet, Frederic Marlett Bell-Smith (1846-1923), Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, Victoria, 1977, page 109, plate 102, for another watercolour depicting a rainy day in Piccadily.

Note:

One of the interesting attributes of the watercolour medium is its ready ability to express all types of atmosphere. The atmospherics can be produced by flooding pigment onto wetted paper. It takes a skilled artist to control such effects.
