Note:
MacDonald made a trip to Nova Scotia in 1922 and spent time in Petite Riviere, a small village on the south shore of the province, about 75 miles from Halifax. The artist quickly became part of the small community of artists and friends and spent a great deal of his time documenting and painting the village and surrounding area.
