Literature:

Peter L. MacNair, Alan L. Hoover and Kevin Neary, The Legacy: Tradition And Innovation in Northwest Coast Indian Art, Douglas and McIntyre, Vancouver/Toronto, 1984, page 188.

According to a biography of the artist found in The Legacy, “Don Yeomans was born in Prince Rupert. His father is a Masset Haida and his mother a Cree from Slave Lake, Alberta. He first studied with his aunt, Haida carver Freda Diesing, in 1970-71. Yeomans continued working on his own until 1976 when he enrolled in the fine arts program at Vancouver Community College. In 1978, Yeomans participated in the carving of four Haida inside houseposts... Yeomans remains primarily interested in wood although he has worked in metal and has designed a number of silkscreen prints.”
