JACK LEONARD SHADBOLT, R.C.A.
Note:
In this work, Shadbolt combines his attraction to abstraction with his training as a landscape artist to develop, what the artist characterizes as, “a language of form imagery free from conventional restraint or responsibility to external nature.” This form imagery is evident in “Untitled” (77-81), as there appears to be a figure rising and transforming from or into the landscape, while still retaining the liberation of abstraction.
