Moncrieff Williamson, Robert Harris (1849-1919), The National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa, 1973, page 109, no.129, illustrated, for a canvas entitled Portrait of Miss Alice Sutherland, 1902.

Note:

Miss Sutherland was born in Montreal in 1882. She was married to Hugh Russel, a mining engineer who, at the time of his death in 1924, was Manager of the Western Division of Chemical Industries Limited (later CIL).

A copy of Moncrieff Williamson’s book accompanies this lot.
