Purchased by the Art Gallery of Toronto in 1957 as Jean-Auguste-Dominque Ingres, "Study of the Iliad (The Apotheosis of Homer)” from the Frank P. Wood Endowment, de-attributed in 1969 with the title removed;
Deaccessioned from the collection of the Art Gallery of Ontario to benefit art purchases at the AGO

Good overall condition.
Severe craquelure, slight bump at shoulder of figure and a hole at bottom right edge present.
