An old, inscribed pen and ink label verso lists the following collectors:
Unknown (the first name is indistinct as the label is torn in that place); Afterwards Mr. Bernard Quarritch, London;
W. Robert Crozier of Manchester;
Passed to John Lawson, Manchester of London, England in 1883;
Private Collection, Toronto, ON from their mother in law who was in the antique business

Note:

Ruben's original canvas is held in the Peel Collection at The National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, London.

This portrait is probably of Susanna Lunden, born Susanna Fourment, third daughter of Daniel Fourment who was a tapestry and silk merchant from Antwerp. Susanna's younger sister Helena became Rubens's second wife in 1630.
