Lot Report

Note:

I so enjoyed creating my sculpture “Full Moon”. Having spent decades working in stone and feeling dedicated to a very smooth finish, it was lovely to maintain an appealing line and shape while smooshing the flexible medium into a loose and spontaneous owl form. The work transferred beautifully to bronze, and allowed me to create this rendition of a Barred owl. The curved talons slip perfectly into the scooped basalt column base, allowing the viewer to turn the sculpture fully around, much like the wild owl can so amazing do with their design oriented, full moon shaped, round heads.
