Note:

Walker Evans was an American photographer known for his documentary-style photography, particularly during the Great Depression. His work captured the struggles of everyday people and sought to shed light on the realities of American life.

Evans' style was characterized by a focus on the mundane and ordinary aspects of life. He often used a large format camera and worked in black and white, which allowed him to capture detail and texture in a way that highlighted the stark realities of the world around him.

In addition to his work during the Depression, Evans also photographed the American South in the 1930s and 1940s, capturing the unique culture and traditions of the region. He also photographed New York City, documenting the city's architecture and everyday life. He was a master at using his camera to reveal the hidden beauty in everyday objects and situations.
