Note:

After studying at the National School of Decorative Arts in Nice and the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, Mario Avati began to practice all printmaking techniques in 1947. Ten years later, he turned almost exclusively to mezzotint, first in black and then color in 1969.
