the 8 inch brass dial with silvered Roman/Arabic chapter ring, date and mock pendulum apertures and makers crescent flanked by mask spandrels, strike/silent, quarters/no quarters and regulating ring in the break arch with further grotesque spandrels, fronting 7 pillar triple fusée anchor escapement movement striking on bell and chiming on 8 bells with scroll engraved backplate having ho-ho birds below makers name James Chater, LONDON
