Note:

Fort Garry, also known as Upper Fort Garry, was a Hudson's Bay Company trading post at the confluence of the Red and Assiniboine rivers in what is now downtown Winnipeg. It was established in 1822 on or near the site of the North West Company's Fort Gibraltar. Fort Garry was named after Nicholas Garry, deputy governor of the Hudson's Bay Company. Although only the main gate of the fort remains today, the name "Fort Garry" lives on through various institutions and businesses in the Winnipeg area.

Lionel MacDonald Stephenson, was born in France in 1854 and died in 1907. He attended a military academy in England and resided in Winnipeg from 1885 to 1892. Stephenson is known for his Winnipeg landscapes, including numerous views of Fort Garry
