The Lieut. Governor has read the representation of the Grand Jury of Prince Edward Island, the principle features of which he has frequently [**** ********] submitted to the consideration to the House of Assembly & particularly at the last session, which occupied nearly one month in continuance and pass the Colony to an upence of one third of the annual [*****].
The Laws & regulations of His Majesty's Gov't have at certain distinct times which are to bound and describe each department as can [*******] & it is the duty of the Lt. Gov. to see that those distinctions are attended to and preserved inviolate - he laments to remark that while the Grand Jury have considered many matter of exigency they appear to have lost sight of their own particular province & immediate duties and interfere with subjects which the Constitution[*] to a Department fully calculated to examin [sic] if any misconduct has occurred therein - any representation regarding local objects which may be made by the Supreme Court of Judicature at the [insistence] of the Grand Jury will without doubt be duly appreciated by the Lt. Govrn. who is willing to attribute to good intentions in an infant Colony language which under other circumstances might be very differently received.
