Lot Report

Note:

The design of this panel was likely a result of the ‘tulip mania’ of the late 16th and early 17th centuries when the flower was highly fashionable and prices for some bulbs soared. Often considered the first economic ‘bubble’, the tulip market experienced a dramatic crash in February, 1637.
