Note:

Zultanite is one of the world’s newer gemstones. It is a variety of the mineral diaspore which displays the ability to appear as different colours in different types of light, similar to the effect found in alexandrite. The first economical deposits of zultanite were discovered in 1977, and all zultanite still comes from these deposits, high in the mountains of Anatolia, Turkey. The gems are laboriously mined by hand, and stones over 5 carats are very rare.
