TLINGIT RATTLE TOP BASKET CA.1900, Tlingit

A very finely woven Tlingit rattle top basket. A complex design featuring a pinwheel design on the lid with floating orange rectangles between meandering solid lines in brown and interspersed fine ticking. Excellent original condition, complete with its original insert to hold shape.
Spruce root, dyed bear grasses and maiden hair fern. Cardboard insert.
