Waddington’s Holiday Sour

A special cocktail for the season

Whether entertaining friends and family or just to savour yourself with a good book on a snowy evening, it’s always fun to have a special cocktail to enjoy.

So, just in time for the holidays, we asked Devin Hatfield of our Fine Wine and Spirits department to create a special cocktail for the season.

We weren’t surprised that the cocktail Devin designed for us is whisky based, following how much he enjoyed his recent studies at the Edinburgh Whisky Academy. Read more about Devin’s experience in Scotland.

Simple to make and sure to impress, Waddington’s Holiday Sour is as delicious as it looks!

 

Waddington’s Holiday Sour

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz rye whisky
  • .5 oz fresh lemon juice
  • .5 oz maple syrup
  • 1 egg white
  • dash of unsweetened cranberry juice
  • dash of aromatic bitters

Optional

A light dusting of cocoa and a sprig of rosemary to garnish.

Directions

  1. Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker.
  2. Shake thoroughly without ice to create foam.
  3. Add ice and shake again until chilled.
  4. Strain into a coupe glass.
  5. Enjoy!
