Impressively moulded with a large seated figure of Kannon (Avalokiteshvara) as the cover finial and two karako (Tang Chinese children) holding rings tied with silk tassels as handles, the body painted extensively in gold to depict two dynamic scenes of samurai engaged in battle; together with a Canton export marble-inset hardwood stand, 19th century
