Note:

In a handwritten letter dated January 21, 1984, to the owner of this painting, whom he knew, A.J. Casson (1898-1992) writes: “I thought you would like to know a bit about the painting. It was made while we were at Browning Island, Lake Muskoka in 1947. I only did watercolours once in that district and because of that and the age of the painting it would now be classed as a collector’s item...”
