CONDITION DETAILS

Very good condition for its age. The canvas was relined, possibly by Thom Gallery. Black light shows old varnish overall. Age-dirt as expected. Old overpaint in the upper right corner; darker, vertical lines of overpaint in the background upper left that appear to be strengthening lines; vertical line of darker paint that is old overpaint at the stretcher mark mid-right above, and to the right of the head of the sitting brown and white dog at lower right that is about 3" tall; there is overpaint on the cloth and ground around it that the black dog sits on and where the groomer is touching the dog.
