Here the artist Kaka Ashoona has rendered the face of a women with a sensitivity that suggests portraiture. We believe this to be a portrait of the artist’s wife, the accomplished graphic artist Mayoreak Ashoona, R.C.A. Her full face and sincere smile are highlighted by the hood of her amauti which appears as a terraced ring encircling her face.
